Aragon Day Festival was launched in 2003 to mark the 470th anniversary of Queen Katherine of Aragon leaving Ampthill 'castle' after learning that her marriage to Henry VIII was annulled.

During the summer Ampthill likes to turn back the clock to honour one of its most important guests.

Aragon Day is designed to be a fun day for all the family, with displays of tudor cookery, the barber/surgeon's tools and story-telling, together with traditional skills such as woodturning and lace making and some familiar games. Whilst you are walking around the town make sure you keep your eyes open for the swaggering dissident priest and the peddler selling her wares.
